Bill Posey’s response to the Orlando Sentinel
Oct 13, 2008
Your endorsement of my opponent claimed I lacked curiosity and the openness needed to navigate and solve issues at the federal level.
You failed to even reference, however, my success at making government more accountable. I was named a NATIONAL legislator of the year by the American Legislative Exchange Council, the nation’s oldest and largest, bipartisan, non-profit association of lawmakers, for passing an accountability bill that they termed “the best piece of legislation to come out of any state legislature in over 10 years”.
I’ve served honorably and worked hard to earn the respect of my colleagues and constituents. In over 15 years I’ve missed only 3 days of work; run my offices under budget every month, returning taxpayers hard earned dollars to the state coffers; and even voted to cut my own pay –twice.
You stated my opponent favors the 2nd amendment, but did not mention the numerous restrictions on that right which he supports, nor did you mention that the NRA has endorsed my campaign.
Washington is a mess. My track record of tackling difficult issues and solving them will help provide relief for all working taxpayers.
