Letter: Bergman backs Posey for House seat

The primaries are over. The results are in. What does it mean to me?
I could go on at length about the reasons for my loss. I think this would be counter-productive, so I have chosen a more positive approach.
I have had the privilege of meeting some of the best people in our 15th Congressional District. I have identified important issues and the people who have input into their solution. I have, in many cases, found potential solutions to them.
It is true that I am not the man who will go to Capitol Hill. But does that mean I should abandon my fellow voters, more than 8,000 of whom supported me? The answer is a resounding no!
I am a pragmatist. In this case, I need to be flexible for the good of our district. I will work with groups and individuals to achieve our common goals.
Bill Posey is one of these people. I have met with him and discussed these issues. We agree on many points and with his legislative experience and my tenacity working together we can achieve these goals.
As in all elections, we choose our representatives carefully. This is particularly important when our country is at war and undergoing financial challenges. The selections we make will affect our lives as well as all future generations. Never has it been more important to be an active and well-informed voter.
I want to thank all those who supported me and encourage them to go forward with the platform I presented. Together we can make a difference.
