Elect Posey, a sound fiscal manager, to Congress

We have a great opportunity to elect an outstanding congressman in Republican Bill Posey on Nov 4.

I have known Posey for 31 years. Over that time, he has always been intelligent, informed and incisive in his views. As a state senator and representative, he was often given the tough job, such as election reform and insurance reform, because the Senate presidents and House speakers knew he would do the research and hard work to get the job done properly in an honorable fashion.

Sometimes Posey’s candor has rankled those who deal in half truths and innuendo, but his candor resulted in his being an outstanding state legislator serving the needs of responsible Floridians.

Some letter writers and candidates have attacked Posey for his candor in discussing the health insurance issue.

Posey, who was raised to first ensure food on the table and a roof over one’s families’ head, was criticized for saying at a recent forum some people go without health insurance by putting their wants, such as plasma TVs and fancy wheels on their vehicles, ahead of needs, such as health insurance for their families.

We need to return that philosophy of paying for needs before wants to our federal government by electing a sound fiscal manager like Bill Posey to Congress.
