Wake up

To the editor:

Just a few days from now we have an election that could change the way we protect ourselves and our loved ones.

There are several candidates running for various offices who profess to be supporters of the Second Amendment, but their past votes or their ideas say differently.
Let’s take Barack H. Obama, for one. He says people have the right to protect themselves, but look at what he really believes. Obama opposes four out of five of the Supreme Court justices who made the ruling on DC vs. Heller. This was the decision that gave back the right to bear arms to the citizens of Washington, D.C. He (Obama) voted against confirming Justices Alito and Roberts. He also said he would not have appointed Justices Thomas and Scalia to the Supreme Court. What does that tell you?

Obama voted to allow reckless lawsuits to bankrupt the firearms industry. He voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition used for hunting and sport shooting. He endorsed a 500 percent increase in the federal excise tax on firearms and ammunition. The list goes on and on. You can find out yourself by visiting http://www.gunbanobama.com.

Not to forget the 15th Congressional District race, the Democrat, Steve Blythe, at a forum a few months ago, said, “I’m not a follower of the NRA. I really think we probably need to do some things like close the gun show loopholes and things like that.”

This candidate also said he is not against adding regulations, rules restrictions and limitations. These are to chip away at our rights. He also said in his blog page that this country is heading toward fascism. This man says he is against torture but has no problem sending a patient to get an abortion. Wouldn’t the child being aborted think that was torture?

By the way, Dr. Steve Blythe is in favor of the Canadian health care system. God help us.

If you get the chance to question any of these candidates, do so. They won’t come out and say they would take your rights away but they would vote to restrict or remove our rights.
John McCain and Sarah Palin are strong supporters of the Second Amendment. Bill Posey, who happens to be Steve Blythe’s opponent, has an A+ rating by the NRA and he is pro life.

When you mark your ballot in a few days, remember what the repercussions will be if the right people aren’t elected. We don’t want to give up our rights, any of them!  Wake up, America!
