Small Business Group Names Posey Champion of the Entrepreneur
Oct 26, 2010
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Posey was named Champion of the Entrepreneur by the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) for his record on issues and legislation impacting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Posey achieved a perfect 100% on the SBE Council’s scorecard which uses legislative records to measure support for America’s free enterprise system.
“Entrepreneurs and small businesses drive America’s economy,” said Congressman Posey who recently hosted a summit for local entrepreneurs to showcase new technology to potential investors. “Historically, small businesses provide about 70% of new jobs. If we want to grow this economy, Washington needs to put forward policies that promote economic growth by creating a more competitive environment for small businesses.”
“America’s small business owners need Champions like you in the Congress,” said Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council President and CEO Karen Kerrigan in a letter to Posey. “Your voting record shows that you stood strong with entrepreneurs and against legislation that raised taxes, health coverage costs and regulatory burdens.”
